Could I have ruined the stator by jump starting other vehicles? Is there a particular technique to use when jump starting other vehicles?

I've never used my bike to jump start someone else, as it's easier to just give them a push start. But I don't think I'd try it anyway, as the electrical system on a bike is not nearly as robust as a car's.
If jump starting someone, hook-up the cables to the dead battery first, then connect the positive side of the good battery next, and the negative last. Disconnect good battery as soon as other vehicle starts--DO NOT leave connected more than a couple seconds.
Watch your ammeter while the bike is idling Ride_Slow. If it's showing 0 or low amps, you've damaged either the stator or voltage regulator.

I did some checking with different mechanics, and as long as the bike isn't running, it comes directly off the battery. I'ma thinking I will tap in a cord to work with my battery tender plug, that thing is fused, for additional protection, funny how the Harley is always the one that is still running.....
