Hi all, I have a 07 Royal Star that I bought used. The dealer changed the oil when I picked it up. While reading the owners manual, I seen the previous owner ran syntheic oil. I have put about 4000 miles on it and would like to switch back to syntheic. I've ask folks about this and have gotten different answers from, just change back, to mix with 1qt regular oil, to use this and that additive, but no one seems to know. Looking to see if anyone knows for sure. Thanks

Just switch back.

My bike has 12K on it. I bought it used with 38K miles on it.
I don't know what the orig. owner used however, I have used synth oil and have switched from dino and back to synth with no problem at all. I believe the synth made it shift a wee bit smoother and the engine a bit quieter, but that is just my opinion.

It used to be that you couldnt mix sythetic and regular, or couldnt switch back and forth but with the newer oils i, like the others, dont believe that it matters the way it used to. Id also say just switch back to synth if you want to use it. Ive got a 98 vulcan that i have always used synth in since i bought it 5 or 6 years ago and put my own 16k on it, above the 16k that was on it.

Ha, LOL!
That was one hell of a goof! LOL!
In stead of 38K I should have indicated 3,800 miles NOT 38KI.
That was a good catch!
Thanks
