It's not a full blown lights out snoring sleep. She likes to ride sometimes with her arms around me, resting her head against my shoulder and sort of dose off for a bit. I can tell when it happens as she gets heavy against me and a little nudge gets her back on track. Doesn't happen on winding back roads, just on the highway when things are boring and the bike is droning along.

Before i was diagnosed with diabetes i would fall asleep riding down the road.
Now i don't do that any more. I used to joke that my scoot knew the way home but when i fell asleep with my wife on the back going up an overpass and almost home we decided i needed to be checked out. I don't fall asleep anymore and i'm loosing weight because i'm sleeping and eating rigtht. My wife actually wants to ride with me again, yeeeaaaahhhh. Hawg out for now.

I know where you are coming from because Iv'e been there too.
I had quit smoking and gained some weight and came down with Type II Diabetes! My problem was, I was falling asleep because of "Sleep Apnea". I never felt rested after waking up from sleeping and used to doze off at work!
I took a "sleep study" and they found I had sleep apnea.
Long story short. I now sleep with a BIPAP mask. Once I became accustomed to the mask, I will not go to sleep without it! It made that much of a difference. The difference is waking up feeling completely rested, more energy because your sleep is uninterrupted with no "apnea interruptions". It's like I won the lottery.
Initially, I could not get used to the CPAP mask.
(CPAP aids breathing IN only, BIPAP aids breathing IN and OUT).

They wanted to do that sleep test on me too but after getting a tempur pedic I sleep just fine. I still snore like a bear but i sleep good. Just hit 54k on my Vstar classic. Time for a tune up and some gaskets (the valve covers are leaking). I have a second scoot now so i can actually take some time and do some maintenance work to the v-star. Hawg out. see ya rolling down the pavement.

I plan on doing about 8k this year. other years were about 6k. I have a 97 ultra that has 68k on it. Runs like a swiss watch. I am retiring for the third time, so I'll be putting on a few more miles this year. Ride safe

"Snoring like a bear" is an indicator of sleep apnea. Like I said before, "been there and done that". If you feel well rested on the tempurpedic without the CPAP/BIPAP, that's great! I believe either mask would improve your sleep 100%....without the snoring too!

Enjoy your V-Star.....what a bike!!!!!

Sure that would be cool, Blatherbeard. I like the ride to austin it's a little twisty and there are some hills. I really would like to go from here to bandera county. they say the ride is really nice, along with the scenic view. My 1999 flhp needs some work before i can take a long ride with it but my vstar still works great, never a bad problem with it, just needs a tune up and a few worn out gaskets replaced. I'll yak at ya later Hawg gone it's gonna rain a little this weakend so i need to through a cover on the bike i'm not riding....
