Nobody ever gets removed. You just become a lurker.
Like me between scoots.

Last nice day for awhile, 12 miles one way to work. Left jacket in back box for the trip home.

Don't you have to post like 48,000 times?

Indeed it is but right now I've got 3 kids in college. Two U of WA and one in CT.
But I'm lookin' for a gently used mount to get the smile on my face once more (before my youngest seeks college in four years). Ugh... So spring 2011 looks like my golden oportunity to get loose and in the wind again.
The things we do for our kids..... Hope they appreciate it all some day.

In case anyone is interested the the Big Island...it's a great place to live and ride. My riding buddy and I took off Sunday with an excuse for a ride to the other side of the island, visit the bike shop for parts and supplies. We elected to go over the Saddle Road which bisects the island and crosses the 6000 ft elevation between two volcanoes. Mauna Kea is about 250,000 years older than Mauna Loa, you can see the newer volcanoes lava fields crossing the saddle to flow over the red cinder soils of the older. It looks as though you are crossing the moon. The highway is being improved with Federal dollars, and gradually is becoming wide and straight, but for now there are several miles of twists and turns both coming up from Hilo and dropping down to Kona. On the return we took the Hamakua coast road which is the North side where the lush valleys and waterfalls show up as you wind across gulch after gulch over 52 bridges. We have several places along these routes where we can pull off somewhere for a smoke break, and take our time to really enjoy being on the road. Consequently we were with the bikes for 9 hours, and put another 211 miles on our odometers. With perfect weather, it was a Great Biking Day!

I agree, awesome place to visit, all the times we have been to the islands, have never rented a bike. Shoulda bought on Maui in 1997, unit was up for around 100,000, last time I was there, similar unit was 750,000. I have been to Maui, O'ahu, and the Big Island, one of these times, just gonna bite the bullet and rent a bike for several days. Until I had grand kids, thot I might retire there.

We are experiencing some weird weather here, humidity the same as Atlanta, and 65 degrees this morning, left jacket in the back box on the ride in.

I have been off the bike all week. (GASP!!!)
Too much work and too much heavy rain.
Tropical storms have taken over the east coast.
I look forward to my weekly saterday morning ride tomorrow. I like to leave well after the bars close and before the sun is up. The rain should be gone by then and noone will be on the road.
I wont know where I am going till I pull the bike of the driveway.
