Just had someone from work drop his Victory Vision on the front fender of my Ultra yesterday. Got a repair estimate today. New color matched fender and an hour and a half labor. $535.00. Six weeks lead time on getting the new fender.

Anybody changed their RKCustom's rear shocks for the regular touring ones or else? I'm looking into giving my sweet a more comfortable ride. I also read somewhere that the Road King Standard has better handling compare to the RKCustom. Apparently, the higher rear section provides a better steering angle.
Comments, anyone?

Bobby, there is a lot of discussion around suspension on the RoadKing Riders forum. I have heard that the ride with the standard height shocks is a little softer, but not that it is better from a handling point of view. Many people also upgrade to Progressive brand shocks. Check our their website and let us know your thoughts. Progressive shocks are on my long range upgrade list. When I replace the front fork with the chrome version like our pal Gringo has already done, I am going to replace the springs with the Progressive front fork springs... I am still thinking about the rear shocks as they are pretty pricey...

Tommy Tune wrote: Speaking of brake lines..........There's a nice little trick for spongy front brakes. If your front brakes are spongy after you replace a line, take a piece of shoestring and hold the brake down as far as it can go. Tie it to the handgrip overnight. If everything goes well, it'll be fixed in the morning. It's simple but it works.
A spring clamp like on a clamp-on light works very well also.

Follow up on Greenman's accessory plug part: This link shows how to extend it so it fits in your saddlebag:
