RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

The person i borrowed the bike from had a gel pad for it but i wanted to experience the "stock ride" just to see what id be getting if i bought new and not used. Was still pretty comfortable, but what stock seat is really made for "real" riding lol I probably should have taken her up on the pad ;)

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

Just wanted y'all to know that i got the chance to ride an HD Ultra. I was thoroughly impressed with the way it handled curves. I thought it would be a bit more clunky around the corners with all the bags and stuff on it. It sounded a bit "tinny" when riding it but my buddy who rode behind me assured me that it sounded good. Must be the placement of the exhaust, im used to my vulcan which was a one side 2 pipes, so maybe the sound traveled forward more on it. The power was decent, but not any more or less than my vulcan had. It rode a higher than my vulcan, which is good, as i lean a bit far into corners. After riding it for 100+ miles in the 103 degree heat, the engine heat coming off into my face nearly killed me. Something i never got from my vulcan, BUT, my vulcan was also a bare bones bike so i think the lowers on the HD were holding the heat to my body. Wish i could have had the time to take the lowers off and try a ride without them. The seat definitely needed a change, but, again, my vulcans wasnt stock either, so cant compare. Vibration at idle is just huge. There really is no reason for it as it never vibrated while driving, just at idle. I cant understand that. Overall, id still take my vulcan over this particular HD, but id definitely now consider HD where before there was no way i would have looked at them. (stigmatisms and price always kept me away) Glad i experienced it, hopefully i can get a few more rides in before i get some money for a new bike.

Only 90? ;) we've been hit with a bit of a wave this last week, 100+ most of it. Not that im complaining, better high heat than snowstorms i used to deal with. I dont have to shovel sunshine ;)

RE: Music

Personally id go with onboard speakers myself. I dont like the idea of helmet speakers as i like my music loud and i still want to hear pipes and other cars.
